100+ film shows from 54 countries in Diorama Dubai

Cutting across cinematic lines and approaches, the fifth edition of Diorama International Film Festival shall present 100+ feature, short, international, and documentary film shows at its fifth edition in Dubai. Taking place between 28 February and 3 March 2024, the festival showcases a strong and promising lineup and brings film industry luminaries under one roof.

 

Diorama’s International Feature Film section offers a wide range of voices in Cinema through its 11 films from countries such as Russia, Chile, Japan, Spain, South Korea etc. The cluster of 11 Feature Films includes Takeshi Sone’s, ‘Some Days’, Karim Lakzadeh’s, ‘Dark Matter’, Hyunji Lee’s, ‘Cornell's Box’, Natalia Gugueva, ‘Fog’, BEGARYS YELUBAEV’s, ‘Lonely Yurt’, Martín Duplaquet’s, ‘No One’ and many others.

The films competing in the Short Films category are just as varied with representation from countries like Korea, Japan, Germany, Netherlands, Brazil, Nepal, Italy, Lebanon, Spain, Peru, Morocco, UAE, Uzbekistan, Colombia, Turkey, Argentina, Croatia, etc with their stellar movies. The Short Films Category comprises 41 Films from 37 countries. The package includes Shamyrbek Mamat uulu, ‘Queen of the Mountains’, Catherine Mazoyer’s,‘To Fly’, Chandrakant Singh’s Parchhaiyaanet al. While the Documentary section brings together 10 diverse documentary films from 10 countries including Manuel De Coco’s, ‘Invisible World’ from Greece, Nishtha Jain’s‘ Golden Thread’ from India, and Ezel Avci’s ‘Destroyed Walls’ from Turkey.


 

Talking about the programme, Founder & Festival Director, Manoj Srivastava says, “The programme this year features diverse voices addressing a number of social issues. Right from the amateur to the seasoned, Diorama presents a wide spectrum of film selection."

 

Post the excellent reception received for the earlier 4 editions, the films competing at Diorama takes this edition a notch up. With participation from close to 60 countries in 38 languages, Diorama is all set to host this global film festival unleashing creativity, art, and cinema onto the world.
